If you know me, you know how much I love traveling. Unfortunately, my luggage has limited space, so I have to be selective when it comes to choosing face care products for the trip. We always want to look our best, right? Our upcoming adventure to Mexico City inspired me to share my absolute favorite products that I take with me no matter where we go. This post is not sponsored, it’s just something that I use thanks to recommendations of my friends and years of traveling.

If you are a girl with the skin that can be easily burnt, but you love summer, you know that there is a slight chance you may end up looking tomato red. (The story of my life;)) Not only it ruins vacation, but, most importantly, it damages your skin. That’s why I always try to protect it with:
La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 60 Melt-In Sunscreen Milk
Last year we went tubing and I forgot that no matter how good my sunscreen was, I had to apply it at least every 45 minutes. As a result, I got burnt badly and needed something that would give immediate relief. Among all the products that I tried, the only one that worked was Sun Burnt Advanced After-Sun Gel.
– Face Masks.
I know that I spend ridiculous amount of money on face masks. And I also know that I’d better stop. And while I can bring all of them with me, I take the ones that always work. For example,
Lush Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask (Get it at Lush.com)
Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask
Fresh Rose Face Mask.
I have been using Clarisonic Mia face brush for 3 years and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. It removed dull skin and dirt and leaves it fresh and soft. International flights, long vacations, pollution, different time zones, and climate change. My skin does not appreciate it. I am glad Clarisonic Mia can fix it.
– “Bags under my eyes are Chanel”.
I am always on the hunt for a quick fix for tired eyes. We all need a good sleep, but we live so fast that sometimes the question is: “Did I sleep at all?” And if you fly quite often, you can see the changes under your eyes already happening. When I want to look like my life is a vacation, I use Skin Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels.Seriously good product to use when you need a quick 15-minute fix.
Moroccanoil Treatment Hair Oil.
Dry air in the plane, sun, change of water and dust. This is what makes my curly hair look like a dandelion. Add blow-dryer and flat styling iron and thank Universe for the hats. Nobody likes dry unhealthy hair, that is why Moroccanoil Treatment Hair Oil is like a food for my hair.
I just cannot carry a heavy bottle of shampoo with me, so Lush shampoo bars are excellent find: very compact and leave my hair clean.
Also, dry shampoos like
Living Proof Perfect Hair Dry Shampoo
Aussie Total Miracle 7N1 Dry Shampoo are lifesavers on every trip.
There are so many great moisturizers out there that can keep your skin happy, but only a few of them can protect it from sun damage. And the feeling of clean skin is important as well. My two favorites on the trip:
Paula’s Choice Resist Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30
and La Roche-Posay Anthelios SX daily moisturizing cream with sunscreen SPF 15.
– Makeup removal.
Products like makeup remover, micellar water and cleaning oil/water would take too much space in my luggage. I do not believe in makeup remover wipes, so I am so glad I tried Microderma Makeup removal Mitt: one simple step to take off all the makeup. All I need is water. how great is that?
– Extra care with Boscia “Tsubaki Beauty Oil”.
I tried this product when I lived in Denver CO, where dry skin during winter and summer is a real thing. I know there are so many good oils, but none of them are in comparison with Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil. It’s a little pricey, but totally worth it. So many great ingredients for skin benefits. Wouldn’t trade for anything!
– Hand cream.
If you see a girl on the plane applying hand cream for good 10 minutes, that would be me ;)). I have dry skin, so I am grateful for Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and The Body Shop Almond Limited Edition Hand & Nail Cream.
And, finally: let’s agree – we all enjoy samples and there is no better time to try new products than during traveling. I am able to test them in extreme conditions to see whether they actually work for me and if I plan to be back in a couple of days, I don’t even have to carry full-size products.
I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your favorite travel essentials?
