Date night in Austin: take her out

It’s been almost a year since we moved to Austin, TX. My husband and I have a great tradition: once in a while we take each other on a date: we do a research, chose the place and make a plan to enjoy the life we have. Whether it’s an expensive place that requires a reservation or a food truck the quality of the food and the atmosphere really matters. Not everyone knows that if you have been living in Austin for a while, you probably got tired of the traffic and the crowd on the 6th street, so you look for the places outside of downtown. We all look for: nice place + fast service + yummy food. It would also be great to try something new. I can go on and on and on with this, (wondering why people say that I am picky ;)). So if you are planning on taking your woman out or looking for a place for a girls’ night, here are some tasty options for you:
Wine o’clock!
This is one of the cutest little wine bars in Austin. A very cozy place with a great selection of wines, cheeses, and small dishes. I highly recommend you to try baked Brie and goat cheesecake with balsamic strawberries! They also offer “happy hour” deals, so make sure you don’t miss this place while in Austin!
Another gem of Austin that offers high-quality wine, cheese boards, good snacks as well as handcrafted cocktails. Whether it’s a girls’ night out or a date give it a try. Looking for something unique? Monthly wine tastings paired with delicious cuisine are here for you.  Oh, and don’t forget about daily “happy hours”!
What’s better for dinner than tapas and vino? Unique atmosphere, amazing wine list, and Spanish-Mediterranean style food. (I love their wine and tapas selection). It is one of the “Top 20 Wine Bars in America” according to Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

Sushi cravings:
I am a big fan of Japanese cuisine, so I am always excited to visit good sushi restaurant. “Midori Sushi” is so far one of the best in town. The place is small, but the service is exceptional as well as quality of food. No wonder it is always busy! Are you in the mood for something special? Give a try to Ahi Tuna Tower.
This is the place is somehow  perfect for all kinds of events: from a quick lunch to romantic dinner and a party with friends. Delicious Japanese & Korean dishes, attentive servers, big selection of cocktails and wine create a place you always want to come back to! Quick tip it’s crowded, so make sure you have a reservation.
I came here for my birthday for the first time and was amazed by the variety of items in the menu. Another thing that makes this place special the “all you can eat” offer. It may be tricky to find a really good place when you have sushi cravings, but I am so glad this restaurant has everything we all look for.
Ramen lunch:
Let me be honest: I love good Ramen, but it’s so-and-so hard to find a good spot in Austin. I don’t eat meat, so it makes my chances even lower. However, no matter where I go and what Ramen I try, I always come back to “JINYA Ramen Bar” in Austin. What makes me come back? Fast service, delicious food, and reasonable prices.  Customize your Ramen, come with a friend and take your loved one for a date it’s nothing but great experience!
Another good spot offering traditional Ramen, but with a taste of Texas. Vegetarian options are also available. The place is small, but there is always a free table for you. Mochi ice cream is a must try.
Eat cake first!
My hubby knows that I am such a sweet tooth and I have a particular love for French macaroons ever since I tried them in Paris, so the choice of the dessert is obvious.  I believe these are the best macaroons in town! Small cafe with two locations in Austin also has a great selection of bakery and good coffee drinks. The place itself is small, elegant and full of romance. And look at those colors!!
Let me just tell you this: delicious pastry, high-quality coffee beans, gorgeous sunset, and, the best part open patio on Lake Austin. A perfect combination for a romantic evening with your loved one!
When you have a crazy week and you finally made it to the weekend, you need a little more than a good dessert. You need an inspiration. “Bribery bakery” is a charming petite cafe full of bright colors, tasty drinks and delicious baked goodies waiting just for you to try them.
