Best things at Trader Joe’s you can’t miss

Hello there! As promised, today I’m sharing my favorite unexpectedly delicious things from Trader Joe’s you absolutely can’t miss.
A little preview: I try to spend as little time as possible there, so I’m always prepared to follow the list and move fast. I was driving back home, and decided to make a quick stop at Trader Joe’s. 40 minutes and 2 groceries bags later I realized that I found my new favorite store.

Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Croissant Loaf
If you like European style and high quality bread as much as I do (or you’ve been raised in a family where tea and bread ruled the world – also applicable to me), you have to buy this delicious load ASAP. You can’t go wrong with it!

Trader Joe’s Hummus
This is hand down the creamiest and the most delicious hummus we’ve ever tried! Both of them are so delicious that we also add them to sandwiches and use as dip.

Trader Joe’s Belgium Pound Plus Chocolate
Hands down the most delicious chocolate I’ve tried in the USA: rich, creamy and sweet. It just melts in your mouth! Also availible at Amazon

Trader José’s Tortilllas
Who could ever have thought that their tortillas would be so delicious? High-quality and Mexican husband approved 🙂

Dried Fruit Just Mango Slices and Dried Chile Spicy Mango
I’m honestly surprised how good this product is. I can say that this is the best dried mango slices in the country. If you’re like my husband and prefer spicy snacks over sweet ones, treat yourself to Trader Joe’s Chile Spiced Mango. Both of us are picky eaters, and while it can be challenging to find really good fresh mangos, these dried ones are coming from my favorite mango place – Mexico.

Trader Joe’s French Macarons
If you know me, you know that I’m addicted to coffee and good french macaroons. I saw the box at Trader Joe’s and was ready to pass by, but looked up the reviews and decided to give them a try. They taste almost as good as freshly baked macarons. In addition to amazing quality, you get a great (12 macarons for $5).

Quinoa and Black Bean Infused Tortilla Chips
These are our favorite healthier chips after Siete Grain Free Tortilla chips. They are perfect for cooking as they don’t become saggy and can perfectly hold the weight of guacamole or breakfast eggs and sauce of Chilaquiles.

Salsa Autentica
I keep on buying this salsa: it’s mild enough for people who don’t eat too spicy food, it doesn’t contain preservatives and is made with fresh chile peppers. It has great texture and enough flavore to enjoy it with your favorite chips.

Thai Shrimp Gyoza and Spicy Salmon Gyoza
I love Thai food, and I love the idea of using rice steamer to make a quick lunch before I leave the house. I’m down for these steamed gyozas anytime! They are full of flavor and taste just as good as in any Thai restaurant in town. I personally prefer Shrimp one (it also has veggies), and my husband asks for a bag of Spicy Salmon Gyoza. You gotta try both!

Trader Joe’s Almond Butter Granola
If you follow my Instagram, you know that I often have fresh fruits with honey and granola for breakfast. This granola is not too sweet and just crunchy enough to go with the fruits like papaya.

Soy Soyrizo
The texture and flavors of this soyrizo are really good. Unlike chorizo and the soyrizo I used to buy at HEB, this one doesn’t have that much oil/fat in it and tastes amazing. Hand down my favorite ingredient in breakfast tacos! Approved by Mexican husband 🙂

Vegan Jackfruit Cakes
I’ve been vegetarian for over 4 years, so I’m always looking for delicious meals and get excited when I find something unique like these Vegan Jackfruit Cakes.

Other things you may enjoy:

  • Swell high-protein ice-cream
My hubs swears by it and he is always first in line to get it because it’s so good that it’s often sold out at our local Trader Joe’s. Go give it a try if you’re in the mood of really good high-protein ice-cream.
  • Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend
Now that’s my kind of seasoning! I’m a huge fan of breakfast, sometimes I would eat it three times per day, and I will add this “Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend” to every meal. It’s really delicious and balanced!
  • Fruits and flowers (except for papaya)
That’s a habit I learned from my mother-in-law: she would always have a lot of fresh fruits in the house. It’s really convenient, because, I don’t know what about you, but I love snacking every now and then (more than I would like to admit). However, I don’t buy papaya at Trader Joe’s – it’s always so green, and I don’t have patience to wait till Christmas until it’s ready.

XX,
Gena

    1. My husband loves spicy fruits, so this is how I found out about them in the first place. (even though I am not a huge fan of spiced mangos, I buy them for hubs)
